To qualify, you need to be a current member of the Alaska SEED Registry or have completed and submitted your registration before applying for this Mini ROOTS Award.

Licensed Child Care Provider:
 Any child care provider working at a Child Care Program that is licensed by the State of Alaska, Child Care Program Office (CCPO) or the Municipality of Anchorage, Child Care Licensing (CCL).

Approved Child Care Provider: Any child care provider working at a Child Care Program that is approved by the State of Alaska, Child Care Program Office (CCPO) Child Care Assistance (CCA) Program as an Approved Relative Provider, or an Approved In-Home Provider. 

Head Start/Early Head Start Home Visitor, Teacher, or Assistant Teacher: Any home visitor, lead teacher, or assistant teacher currently working in a Head Start/Early Head Start program serving children birth to five years of age.

Tribal Head Start/Early Head Start Home Visitor, Teacher, or Assistant Teacher: Any home visitor, lead teacher, or assistant teacher currently working in a Tribal Head Start/Early Head Start program serving children birth to five years of age.

Parents as Teachers Provider: A Parents as Teachers (PAT) Provider is a certified professional who delivers early childhood education and support services to families through the Parents as Teachers program.

School District Pre-Elementary Paraprofessional: A paraprofessional, not a certified teacher, working in a school district Pre-Elementary classroom.

If you are not sure whether your program is licensed is licensed by CCPO or CCL, please use the State of Alaska's "Find a Child Care Provider" search.

The 2026 Alaska SEED Mini ROOTS Award is taxed as income. Taxes are not taken out upon distribution. Recipients are responsible for claiming the Alaska SEED ROOTS award when they file their income taxes for 2026 and paying any applicable tax.
