What is a Quality Initiative?
A Quality Initiative (QI) is an opportunity for early childhood education programs and early educators to participate in professional development around a specific early care and learning topic.
This Alaska SEED Registry and ServicePortal Quality Initiative (QI) will provide applicants training on:
- Register via Alaska SEED ServicePortal
- How to register for a thread training
- Upload documents and title documents in the ServicePortal
- How to complete training criteria to assure correct link to new comprehensive transcript
- April 23 session for Center Administrators ONLY: will review program profile in the ServicePortal
To be eligible to receive the QI stipend and training hours, you must:
- Be an early childhood or school-age professional operating or working as a paid employee of a licensed or approved child care facility, Head Start or School District Pre-elementary program.
- Have a current/active membership in the Alaska SEED Registry
Applicants will attend a two-hour training and complete pre- and post-survey questions. Applicants who complete these requirements will be awarded a stipend and two-hours of Alaska SEED-approved training.
Applicants who received an Alaska SEED QI Stipend in
2025 will not be eligible for the stipend but can attend the training for
training hours.
Administrators & directors will learn how to
navigate the new Program Information feature in the ServicePortal and the Alaska SEED Registry administrator tool.
Application Requirements:
- Applications
are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
- Applications
are considered complete if: all questions in this application are
completed, the applicants has an active/current Alaska SEED Registry profile, and an accurately completed and signed W-9 is attached.
- If
applications are not complete they will be moved down on the list of
eligible applicants until the required paperwork is submitted.
- If additional information is needed, Alaska SEED will send an email to the email address provided in this application only once. Please make sure the email listed is correct.
- Individuals
have 10 business days from the date an email is sent to respond with their Alaska SEED Registry renewal and/or a corrected W-9.
Training Options
There are four scheduled options to complete the training requirement (please select one):
April 9, 2026: Zoom Training 6:30-8:30 pm (50 spots)
April 18, 2026: In-Person Training Spanish Only (30 seats) 9:30-11:30 am

April 30, 2026: Zoom Training in Spanish Only 6:30-8:30 (30 spots)
