thread provides support through Relationship Based Professional Development (RBPD). thread Professional Development Specialists (PDS) use the context of a confidential and safe relationship to provide targeted and customized supports that help early childhood educators achieve classroom, administrative, or programmatic goals. thread staff do not provide therapy, counseling, corrective action, performance management, tax consultation, individual child assessment, screening or diagnosis. This work may be done in-person, virtually, asynchronously, individually, with a group, or through a combination of delivery methods.
Relationship Based Professional Development (RBPD) may include supporting the program administrator and/or individual teachers with:
- Implementation of the Pyramid Model Foundation for Promoting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children including:
- Promoting nurturing, positive, and responsive relationships
- Designing a high-quality supportive environment
- Implementing universal social-emotional, physical and/or intellectual teaching strategies
- Classroom management
- Curriculum
- Inclusionary practices
- Program management
- Policies & Procedures
- HR/Staff, Financial or Marketing Management
- Regulations
- Family Engagement
- Accreditation
- Individual educator professional development planning
